Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

My 30th birthday just my be my favorite ever. (and I have had some fun ones) What a fun day. I have been feeling especially thankful ever since. I woke up to go to the gym at 5:00 am and when I pulled out of my garage I saw the biggest cake (sign) ever!! My mom, and Chad and Kim decorated my yard. Oh wait, not my yard, my street. They put signs everywhere. Kim said it was so that I didn't have to call all of my neighbors to tell them it was my birthday. (but, I stopped doing that when I turned like 13) Then I went to lunch downtown with my brother. It was so nice. We ate Tai Food and talked forever. I loved it. Thank you Chad. Then I hung out with the kids for the day and they were so cute all day. I know that they were on their best behavior just so I could have a good day. Cory and I had big plans to go to Park City shopping with the money that he gave me to spend only on myself. My mom offered to tend the kids all night for us. I thought it was so nice. When we went to drop them off, we drove past the park by her house and SUPRISE!!! Everybody I know was there. My mom and Kim and Bree and Cory and Annette had planned a huge party/barbeque for me. I have now idea how I did not know. Everybody, including Brock and Parker kept it from me. Cory did so good not letting me find out. I thought we were having a fun date night. Bree even brought a gift to my house earlier in the day to help throw me off. It was so fun. I was shocked to see so many people. Even aunts and cousins from out of town. I had such a great night and thank you so much to everybody who came. You all made my 30th birthday amazing. I know how lucky I am to have you in my life and I appreciate your friendship. And, thanks to my mom for always letting me believe that my birthday is the most important day of the entire year.

Something about Brothers.....

A long time ago, my mother-in-law told me that one of her greatest joys is seeing her children be friends. At the time I didn’t think much of it. I just figured that siblings are all friends. Chad is one of my best friends after all. In the last couple of months I have come to realize exactly what she meant. I think that relationships between siblings are awesome. But, lately I think that I have seen that there is something even more special between brothers.
Cory would do absolutely anything for his brothers. I watch how much they are alike and how much they understand each other. CJ has become Cory’s best friend over the last couple of years and I can tell that they truly admire each other.
I see my dad with his brothers. He is so happy and comfortable when he is with them. His youngest brother Mike has been having some health problems and I have been watching my dad’s heart ache for him. He would do anything to help him feel better. (maybe even give him a kidney)
The other night Cory hollered at me to grab the camera. Our boys were watching TV on our bed. Parker was lying on Brock’s shoulder and he was tickling his back. Don’t get me wrong, boys will be boys and they fight like crazy, but I know that they are without a doubt the most important person in each other’s lives. I am so thankful that they have each other, and I am so excited to watch their friendship grow.

Another Fun Weekend in Moab

Well, you would think that we could get a little more original with our family vacations. Yet, a week and half ago we took another trip to Moab. This time we went with Justun, Bree, Abby and Hadley. We had a blast. We stayed at the same campground that we have grown to love, Moab Valley RV. If ever you have a chance to stay there we highly reccomend it. It's clean there is a playground, a pool and Yes, bathrooms and showers.
The first night we got there, we BBQ'd and just hung out aroung the heater. (okay so one downfall, they don't allow fires) Then the next morning got up early and went on Poison Spider. Justun and Bree rented a Rubicon. I think Justun is convinced that he "needs" one. It was fun. We didn't break or dent anything. Cory put on quite the show by raising a tire in a crack about four and half feet off the ground. I had to make him come down because gas was running out the back of the Jeep and you know that we cannot afford to waste any gas these days. That 5 minutes of showing off proably cost us $20 in gas.
After our ride, we ate at Zax for dinner and hung out around the town. We all got T-shirts. There is a really cool store in Moab that has everything. Its called Walker Drug. While we were there, Abby needed to use the bathroom so Bree asked the sales lady where the bathrooms were and they didn't have any public restrooms. So, Bree told Abby that she would have to wait and Abby informed us that it was okay because "her bum changed its mind!". It was one of the funniest things I have ever heard a child say. They kept us laughing all weekend. We played truth or dare and Bree dared Parker to yell that he loves girls. He absolutely refused. He said that he would "rather lick a tree than say that".
On Saturday we hiked to the delicate arch. It was cool. Quite the hike for little kids who a too big to be carried and too little to not ask "how much farther". Parker did the whole hike without ever being carried. Brock had shoulder ride for a while, simply because Parker (along with Cory) tricked him into it so that Parker could say that he was the only kid who was able to make it the whole way. I think Haddie would have walked by herself the whole time if Bree and Justun would have let her and if we had one week to do the 3 mile hike there and back. When we got back we swam and played in the park, played Uno and just hung out. We always have so much fun with the Edwards and we can't wait until they get that Rubicon, so we can do it more often. But until then, LET'S GO BOATING!!
