Happy Thanksgiving

We have had a fun holiday weekend. It started off with Alyssa, Randy, and A.J. coming for a visit from Alaska. They came a week and a half ago and have stayed through Thanksgiving. It was fun because Annette had no idea they were coming. Cory, the kids and Cam and I went to the airport to pick them up. It was so good to see little AJ. Its awful how fast they grow when they live so far away. Anyway, we met Cory's entire family at Annette's house and left AJ on the doorstep and hid while she answered the door. What a cool surprised that must have been for her. We all went to dinner and had pie afterward.
Parker had a Thanksgiving program at school. His class sang songs and fed us a feast of fruit salad and mini muffins. He was so proud, wearing his pilgrim hat and singing his little heart out.
This year, it was our turn to eat with Cory's family. We had dinner with All of Cory's siblings and all of Mel's kids. That makes for one big family. Which is why we had dinner at a church. It was cool, we ate yummy food (lots of it) we played basketball and family feud and Guitar Hero.
When we came home, Parker was completely insistent that we put up our Christmas stuff. So, we did. We followed our traditions, Cory and the boys did the tree while I did all the other stuff. We all love it, but Parker cracks me up. I think he likes the decorating and the tree more than he loves Christmas Day. He is so cute and he gets so excited. Brock is a big help with the tree and helps Cory do things just in the right order. The ornaments are definitely our favorite part. So Saturday, we went shopping for our ornaments for the year. Cory got a Dallas Cowboys one, me-Smurfette, Brock a skateboard and Parker Spongebob. I wonder if we will ever look back at out tree and wonder "what the heck were we thinking".
Friday night we had to prepare for the BYU vs. Utah game by painting BIG "Y's" on the front windows of the homes of the people that we love who are Utah fans. Cory is a little worried about the retaliation. But, since Utah lost, I don't think it will be too bad. We had a little party at our house for the game. Cory loves BYU football and is walking tall today.
Happy Thanksgiving everybody. We had a great weekend and hope you did too.

Well, we're honored to be loved enough to get a Y on our door. But just remember, pay backs! I'm already planning a little scheme, be on your toes is all I can say! Tell Brock, next time you are making him commit nasty crimes, he can come to our house so he doesn't have to take part. We'll adopt him on rivalry week, and he can participate in clean wholesome fun!
