Christmas 2010

We love Christmas time here at the Proulx house! Here's how we celebrated!

Happy 33rd Cory! December 23. We love to start the celebrations on Cory's birthday by having everybody over for Ice Cream and Cake and presents of course.Every year we do something fun with the Edwards for Christmas. This year, it was a HUGE breakfast on Christmas Eve morning. Next, Christmas Eve. Always with the Tattons. We go to dinner and then back to Grandma and Papa's house for lots of fun! Grandma made ALL of us matching pajamas. Soooo Cute! They gave Brock and Parker iPod touches. (and then we didn't see our kids for the rest of the holiday)We spent Christmas morning at home. The big guy came and spoiled the kids rotten with pellet guns, and remote control trucks, a long board, and lava lamps and new snow clothes, and snowboards and video games and all sorts of fun stuff. Brock and Parker are two very lucky boys. I never want the magic of Christmas Morning to go away! Later in the afternoon we went to Grandma Nett and Grandpa Joe's house for dinner and more fun. I didn't take my camera and I will have to steal some pictures from Annette. We had a Yummy dinner and exchanged gifts. Merry Christmas everybody!

Our Cruise and Dinsney Vacation

Last March, Cory and I decided that it was time to take our kids on a vacation that didn't involve Jeeps, or Boats, or Tents. I know its crazy, because that's what we love. But everybody needs to see new sites, right? So we booked it. (and December was the most convenient time) A 5 day Carnival Cruise to Catalina and Ensenada and 9 days in California. We were so excited for such a long time and the anticipation was totally worth it.
Top ten Highlights from our vacation (in no particular order)
1. 80 degree SUNSHINE in December
2. Riding golf carts around on Catalina Island
3. Watching Parker fight Darth Vader at Disneyland
4. All of the yummy food. (especially on the cruise)
5. California Sreamin'
6. Seeing Crazy people on Venice beach doing crazy things
7. New Port Beach at Christmas time
8. Hanging out in Hollywood
9. Swimming, swimming and more swimming
10. Being together for 14 days and sharing it all with Grandma and Papa
The Cruise
Bon Voyage Friends!

Brock, Parker and I won a Dance contest for doing the twist and shout the first night on the cruise. We won a trophy!
Brock on the Carnival Cruise ship slide
Parker on the slide

Cory takin' it easy
Brock enjoying a burger and fries anytime he wanted to .

Two of my favorite things, Ice cream and Sunshine!
Formal night on the ship

On our way to Catalina Island

Cruisin' around in golf carts at Catalina

This guy totally inspired Parker to buy himself a ukulele in Ensenada.

Cory and Jeri at the Blow Hole in Ensenada

Brock bought this hat and wore it every single chance he had for the rest of the cruise. Everybody kept telling him how nice it looked on him.

Disneyland

Us and Goofy

Brock, Papa, Grandma and T waiting in a line.

Us on the Tower of Terror

Loved the hats!
Parker loved California Screamin'. I think he went on it about 10 time. Good thing the lines were short for most of the time.

Mom and Pluto

Brock and Parker really loved Toon Town.

This is Papa after he "peed his pants" on California Screamin'! He really likes to get a rise out of the boys, so every time they went on a scary ride he would dump some of his water bottle on himself to make them think he peed his pants.

More Toon Town

Parker fighting Darth Vader after his Jedi Training. He totally kicked butt and the whole crowd cheered for him.

The Teacups, of course!

This was the main reason for Papa going to Disneyland. He loves a good turkey leg.

Other California Fun
While we were waiting to go to a movie a mall, they had these Human Hamster Balls. It was hilarious to watch the boys try to run in them.

Grandma and T on a tour of Hollywood and Beverly Hills on top of an open air tour bus.

Parker bought himself these awesome sunglasses on Venice Beach.

Brock met this guy on Venice beach who told him stay in school or someday he will be hanging out on Venice Beach doing tricks with a steel ball in a Speedo for money.

"The Stars"

.......and the rest of our time was spent at the pool.

Parker the Pie Man

Parker had his name drawn out at school to be in the Pie eating contest at the Fall Festival. He was soooooo excited. He couldn't even sleep the night before. Parker is so cute because it is the simple things in life that he loves the most. Like, eating pie as fast as he can in front of his entire school. Oh Parker!!!!

Brock's #1 Fan.... Breezy

I have a great friend. Her name is Bree Edwards. For me, she is the best friend anybody could ask for. For Brock, She is "Breezy" She has been around for Brock's entire life. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that she loves him. We joke all the time that he should have been her kid. They have so much in common. They like the same things and eat the same foods and laugh at the same weird stuff. Bree listens to Brock and he loves her so much. She is always so supportive of him and Brock is so lucky to have her.

Meet Brett Michaels and Capt. Jack Sparrow

I am not a big fan of Halloween!! But every year, we go all out! Parties, and parades, and trick or treating and on and on and on. This year was no exception.
Brock was Brett Michaels, (which I personally thought was AWESOME) and Parker was Capt. Jack Sparrow. I totally convinced him that all pirates wear mascara. It was my chance to just see those super long eyelashes with makeup. They had a parade and party at school and we trick or treated with the Edwards in our neighborhood. I survived. But I will probably not be looking forward to it again next year. Yep that's me, a "Halloween Scrooge". I hope my famly had fun though.

Football, football and more football!

So, pretty much most of August, September, October and half of November was completely consumed by FOOTBALL! Let me just start off by saying that in the beginning, I was totally against tackle football until the boys turned 12. Cory had a different plan. He said "Jer, they need to learn to tackle when all of the other kids are learning to tackle." This made sense to me. So I caved. We signed Brock up for football in July. I have absolutely no regrets. It was so much fun. Not to mention, Brock loved it! He made weight (76 lbs) which means he did not have to have an "X" on his helmet. This didn't matter though. Brock played right guard and defensive tackle the whole season. He was in the whole game, every game. He had amazing coaches. They were brothers, the Tufts. They were hard on the boys but never screamed at them or put them down in any way, shape, or form. The team had a really good season. They made it to the playoffs, won their first game and lost the championship game to the undefeated Herriman by one point. We all made lots of new friends and I am officially hooked and can't wait for next year.
Parker played flag football again and Cory Coached. It was great. Had lots of his friends on his team and he did awesome. Although, sometimes I think Parker forgot that he was playing flag football because he did some all out tackles. Parker has decided that he wants to try tackle football next year as well. It will be the only year in little league football that the boys will get to be on the same team. Summer cannot come soon enough for me.

I would like to thank our families and the Edwards for always being so supportive of everything Brock and Parker do. We are so lucky to have you all!
