Brock's 7th Birthday Party!

Well another year older. Holy Crap, where has the time gone. Brock's birthday is on the 17th but we had his party for all of his little friends on Friday the 12th. Now, I am a true believer that you should celebrate you birthday on your birthday, but Brock really wanted to have a movie night in our back yard. We didn't feel like there was any way to do that on a Wednesday night and expect parents to let there children come. So, Friday night it was. This was a super fun party for Brock. I know that we go a little crazy for birthay parties, but we love birthdays in our family and I always want my kids to know how special their birthdays are to me.

Just a few good friends

Everybody brought their sleeping bags and they each got to fill a bag full of "Movie Candy" and popcorn (alot of it)

A friendly little game of Twister.

Happy Birthday Big Brother!

Okay, so I am a little behind but I want to wish my awesome brother, Chad a happy Birthday. He is such a great guy. Always the life of the party. Chad's attitude has always been such an inspiration to me. If anybody knows how to make the best out of everyday, it is him. He is so chill and easy going. I strive to be like him everyday. For his birthday, we went bowling. It was GREAT! He is also so humble that he asked me, specificly to post a picture of the final scores. He is quite the bowler.
Chad has had the same best friend since the first grade! How cool is that? Chris and Chad have the coolest friendship I have every seen. Maybe when you go through every single important phase of your life with the same buddy by your side, it creates something untouchable. Happy birthday Big Brother, We love you!!

Family Camping Trip

Okay, so this blog is a little late, but a couple of weekends ago we went camping with my family. My cute little cousin Amber (who’s not so little anymore) got engaged. So her parents threw her and Kirk an engagement party/camping trip. It was really fun. Cory and I and the Kids got there first. The weather was beautiful until we decided to put up our tent. And, of course as soon as we got it out – DOWNPOUR!! We were so wet. We got the tent up anyway. Then about five minutes later the sun came out and was awesome. UNTIL, everybody else arrived and then DOWNPOUR – again. Lightening was striking right on top of us. Parker said “that guy must have a really big gun” then I thought about it and he has never been in a really big thunder storm. I think he thought it was pretty cool. Anyway, the rain went away but it was soooo cold! It seriously felt like the end of October in August. The coldness did not stop us from having a great time. I am so glad be close to my aunts and uncles and cousins. I am thankful that my kids have a chance to know them, and I love every time we have a chance to be with them. Congratulations Amber and Kirk!

The Burgess'. Welcome to our family, Kirk

Bedtime in our new cabin. (okay, its a tent)

Camron says its payback time for all the times his bigger cousins were mean to him.

Brock and Parker love-love-love Aunt Joan. She spoils them ROTTEN! See, look who's driving!

Brock and Parker have always had so much fun with Jordan and Kelsey. On this trip, they even created a cousin club for them. They said that Kirk could not join until him and Amber are married. I know that he was so disappointed about that.

The Greatest Love I Have Ever Seen

I just want to take a minute to say Happy Anniversary to my mom and dad. Today they have been married for 36 years and now days I think that is very impressive. Their love and devotion and marriage abosolutely amaze me. I can honestly say that I have never known a couple who complement each other like they do. They started dating when my mom was 16 years old. My dad took her to her Jr. Prom. How cool is that? About that time, he started calling her "Ma" and still does, but nobody really knows why. I have alway known that they love each other and have a good marriage but it has just been over the last couple of years that I have realized that they are head over heels for each other. While I have had a chance to travel with my dad for work, he has shared some stories with me that I will cherish for the rest of my life. He says such kind things about her and I really believe that aside from all of his busy work and business, his life and heart truly revlove around her. My mom would do absolutely anything in this world for my dad. If my dad asked her to go survive in the desert with him for a year, she would say "okay, what do you want me to bring for you to wear". She adores him. They never fight and they never say loud or rude things to each other. Okay, except for when my mom is driving and my dad tells her that she is the worst driver in the entire world and they are lucky that they aren't dead already. But, in some wierd way, I think he's really just flirting with her. I am so thankful that I have been able to watch and learn from such a great marriage. Thanks mom and dad, you inspire me. Happy Anniversary.

Our little Kindergartener!

Okay I did it, with only a couple little tears once I was all alone. My baby is officially in Kindergarten. WOW!! Crazy, where has the time gone? He was so cute. He just couldn't wait. I'm not sure if he was mostly excited about his awesome new backpack or the cool Tony Hawk Bones shirt or actually going to school. At first this morning, I thought he might be a little bit nervous but, boy was I wrong. We pulled up to the school. He walked about 10 paces ahead of Cory and I and as soon as he got to the fence he hung up his backpack and went straight to the playground. No "goodbye mom and dad", no "thanks for coming", no "see ya later" or any thing of the sort. He just went. I had to go get him so we could get a few pictures. When it was time to go it he just waved like he was an old pro at this. I'm so glad Parker is a such a fearless little kid, I just truly hope that fearlessness and personality of his never gets him into too much trouble. I can't even imagine what he will be like as a teenager. We love Parker and hope that everyday of kindergarten is just as fun for him as today was. Way to Go "T"!

Brock's First day of First Grade

Okay, I thought Kindergarten was hard. I was wrong, that was nothing compared to first grade. Brock wanted me to just pull up to the school and drop him off and leave. I told him that I wanted to stay and watch and of course take some pictures. Actually, all was fine and dandy until I got home. Last year when I would take the kids to school I would come home and think "okay, I have 2 Hours and 45 Minutes, what can I get done?" Not today, I came home and realized that Brock won't be home from school until 3:30. That is soooo long. He was so excited and definitely ready. He didn't sleep very well because he was so excited. He absolutely refused to put his lunch box in his backpack. Grandma Jen took him to buy it and I think he thinks everybody at school will notice how cool it is. Parker is home all week, all alone, without his big brother. As soon as we got home he asked if we could go to Lagoon today. When I told him that I had to get some work done today, he said "then, what friend should I invite over?" He doesn't start school until next week and this just might be the longest week of his life.
No matter how hard it is for me to watch him grow up so fast, we are so proud of Brock and we are truly are glad that he loves school and is so excited about starting this new chapter of his life. -I can't even imagine what kind of emotional basket case I will be next Tuesday when I have take my baby to kindergarten.
