Looks so Peacful, Right?
Brock's Broken Nose
Brock totally biffed it on the monkey bars last week. We just like to spice up our off track time a little. They have to have something to write in their "off track news", Right! So last Friday we went to the park. Brock was playing on the monkey bars and slipped and slammed his face into the side bar. Now, usually when I see my kids take a fall, I wait a minute to see if they cry before I run to them. Not this time. As soon as he hit, I knew he was hurt, BAD! I ran over there, his nose was bleeding (from the cut, not the inside). It was a little crooked when I first looked, but it swelled so fast that I couldn't really tell if it was broken or not. My gut told me to take him to the
doctor. I figure, I don't want him to have an ugly nose for the rest of his life and be angry at me for not getting it checked out. So, off to the urgent care we went. They did x-rays and checked him for a head injury. The Doc said his nose was not broken and we should just treat the swelling and pain. So that's what we did. UNTIL, the Doctor called back on Monday and told us that the radiologist report shows a broken nose. Anyway, to make a long story short. We went to the ENT, his nose is broken, but not displaced, so everything will be just fine and Brock has something exciting to write about for his "off track news" when he goes back to school this week.

"Service of his fellow man"
Friday 3:30 - Stuck at work with problems
5:00- Hurry down (soaking wet from work problems) to coach kids baseball game then back to work.
Saturday 3:00 am - Home from work
9:00 am - 12:30 pm Help neighbor clean up yard and take a load to the dump for them.
12:30-5:00 Work in our yard
5:00 Help a neighbor with her irrigation water
6:30 Have some friends over for dinner - Cory cooked
Sunday Morning - go to church
2:00 Help his brother move
7:00 Help a friend adjust sprinklers
I know Cory doesn't think a thing of doing all of this stuff, but I sure do. I am so thankful to have a husband who is so willing to help others. I know that Brock and Parker will grow up knowing the importance of service, simply because they watch their dad.

April Adventures
Dyeing Easter Eggs
We dyed Easter eggs with the Edwards family. It was funny to me how opinionated Cory and Justun were about the correct methods. Who knew how awesome rubber cement worked?

Easter Egg Hunt
Grandma Nett took the boys to the Eater Egg Hunt at Riverton City. I was worried that they were too old for it but they had lots of fun. Thanks Grandma! We also had Easter dinner with Cory's family here at our house. Grandma did another hunt for the boys in the back yard. They thought it was cool but Ike was more interested in the slide.

Easter Morning
Crazy, this is the second year in row that we have been home on Easter Morning. Of course, the Bunny came and left a massive amount of eggs full of candy for Brock and Parker. They got a basket with some treats, and swim suits and each a new "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" book, and a hoodie. After they found their stash we got ready and went to Breakfast with my family. Easter is fun at home. Maybe we have found us a new tradition!

Brock's Hairdos
He really wanted to grow his hair out. So, I was giving it a try. But a mom can only take so much. So YES, I bribed him. I said, "what would you want in trade for a haircut?" He said "a new DS game" I said, "DONE". Now my cute little Brock no longer looks like a shaggy mess. We did take some pictures of all his cool "long" styles before we chopped it.

AHhhhh! Nothing better than a nice clean cut young man!

Bad Teeth, Hope its a phase.
I sure hope this is a quick phase. I know everybody has to go through it. But, WOW! Really, I think it is safe to say that our cute little boys are officially in the "bad teeth phase". The dentist told us that we will be so happy that Brock has such nice "big"teeth. But, my question is this - What do we do with him while he grows into them for the next 8-10 years? And I sure hope braces can fix the huge space in Parker's two front teeth.

Mmmmmm Bread!!!
Okay, I know this is not a big deal to most people, but I am totally excited about it. Today I made bread. Homemade, from scratch. I ground the wheat and everything. It turned out great! I wish I could put a scratch and sniff sample of the aroma in my house on the screen for anybody reading this.
Let me give credit where credit is due. Thank you to my dear friends Susan and Janelle. Susan, for the great lesson in her kitchen with her ingredients and her time that that she was so willing to use to teach a rookie how to make bread. And to Janelle for giving me a practice run at her house, with her kitchen and her ingredients and her time. Janelle also helps me grind the wheat with her AMAZING Blendtech. I am so thankful that Cory was able to convince Keith that Janelle really needed it.
What shall I learn to make next????

A Busy Week
Last week was a fun one. Cory had to go to St. George for a the week, we had a birthday, Parker got strep, more wrestling and a mini-vacation to St. George for me.
We celebrated Parker's 7th birthday with family on Sunday, because Cory had to leave for St. George on Monday. Monday, Parker came down with a sore throat. I took him to the Doctor and sure enough, he had strep. So, I ask myself. What do you do with
your kids when they keep getting strep and we have already had their tonsils out? I was a mean mom and made Parker get the big awful Bicilin shot. At least then we wouldn't have to cancel hi
s friend Birthday party. Right! So, we postponed it for one day and celebrated on Wednesday. Which worked out perfectly because that was his actual birthday. We just ditched wrestling practice for that day. Parker had a really fun day. We went to Jump On It, then we came home and had pizza and Cake and presents.
The kids have had so much fun wrestling. Parker loves it, Brock is still not a huge fan. They both improved so much in just a few months. It was fun to watch.
Now for the best part. Justun also had to go to St. George for work. So, on Friday, Bree and I left in the morning and went to meet Cory and Justun
for the the weekend. What a much needed break. We didn't have any plans once we got there, but it was sure nice. We had yummy food, did a little hiking, went shopping, saw two movies and went out for ice cream (twice).
I am so excited that it is March and winter is almost officially over. Parker keeps reminding me that it is not spring until March 21st. So, until then, I will remain calm while it snows outside, like today. But, rest assured that after March 21st, I will no long be nice about snow!

Stay tuned for some excited stuff. Baseball has started and we will spend most of our time at the park for a few months, but after that, I plan on having one heck of a fun summer!
